Instrument Training

Level 1 On-site Training.
This is a basic one-day training class that includes classroom training on the use of Dranetz instruments and related software. Training can be provided on current handheld (portable) Dranetz products. Training includes a full presentation of all of the instrument, its setups and use as well as the use of software such as DranView 7. Software installation, the downloading and use of the software on actual power quality data files will be demonstrated.

Level 2 On-site Monitoring/Troubleshooting Exercise.
Level 2, which adds a half-day to the training schedule, includes the Level I On-Site Training, but goes one step further. In many cases, our customers have a specific area of concern or maybe a specific problem. For example, the technique for locating a source of harmonics, or identifying randomly occurring steady-state and transient events is included. In parallel with the On-Site Training, the instrument(s) will be set up on specific demonstration circuits to perform monitoring. If monitoring of actual building or customer-owned circuits is carried out, a qualified electrician must be provided as Dranetz personnel do not perform the attachments to actual circuits. Over an interval of time depending on the area of concern, the instrument will be set up to gather data. This data will be downloaded applied to the analysis software. The results will be presented and discussed as part of the training. Depending on the results, our expert trainer will make recommendations on further monitoring or even corrective action that may be appropriate. This Monitoring and Troubleshooting exercise provides for developing the procedure for performing a monitoring effort and how to evaluate power quality data.

Level 3 PQ Training.
Level 3, which adds another half-day to the training schedule, is an abbreviated version of our Basic Power Quality Training Session. The added half-day is intended to provide customers who own Dranetz instruments beginner’s knowledge in understanding, identifying the sources of power quality issues and how to mitigate them. Prior to this training, the customer will be given the opportunity to select the curriculum such as transients, harmonics, flicker, capacitors, power quality monitoring, waveform identification, and voltage sags and more.
